ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level

The Advanced Level has three syllabi within the Core part:
- Test Manager
- Test Analyst
- Technical Test Analyst
You can get a separate certificate for each of the presented specializations or pass all three parts and get the ISTQB® Certified Tester, Full Advanced Level certificate.
The Advanced Level qualification is aimed at people who have achieved an advanced point in their careers in software testing. This includes people in roles such as testers, test analysts, test engineers, test consultants, test managers, user acceptance testers and software developers. This Advanced Level qualification is also appropriate for anyone who wants a deeper understanding of software testing, such as project managers, quality managers, software development managers, business analysts, IT directors and management consultants.
To receive Advanced Level certification, candidates must hold the Foundation Certificate and satisfy the Exam Board which examines them that they have sufficient practical experience to be considered Advanced Level qualified.

Professional Test Manager should be able to
- Identify common testing objectives and strategies for the system under test;
- Plan, manage and track tasks;
- Describe and manage the necessary activities;
- Select, find and assign adequate resources to perform tasks;
- Select, manage and lead the testing team;
- Manage communication between members of the testing team, as well as between the team of testers and other interested parties;
- Justify decisions and provide adequate information and reporting when necessary.
Professional Test Analyst should be able to
- Arrange the tasks defined in the testing strategy from the point of view of business requirements;
- Analyze the system in sufficient detail to meet the expectations of user quality;
- Assess requirements in terms of determining the scope;
- Prepare and implement the necessary tasks, and report on progress;
- Provide the necessary evidence in support of the selected assessment;
- Implement the necessary tools and methods to achieve specific goals.
Professional Technical Test Analyst should be able to
- Arrange the tasks defined in the testing strategy in terms of technical requirements;
- Analyze the internal structure of the system in sufficient detail to meet the expected level of quality;
- Assess systems in terms of technical attributes such as performance, security, etc.;
- Prepare and implement the necessary tasks, and report on progress;
- Carry out technical testing;
- Provide the necessary evidence in support of evaluations;
- Implement the necessary tools and methods to achieve specific goals.
